I’m a Dutch-American who grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the fifties and early sixties. I graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids with a degree in history. I was the first member of my family to attend college. I have graduate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University. I am a licensed psychologist in the states of North Carolina and Michigan, and currently practice psychology part-time at Psychology Associates of Grand Rapids (Michigan). I am an emeritus faculty member at Methodist University, Fayetteville, NC, where I taught for 10 years. I am divorced, and have two sons. At present, I am spending most of my time in Grand Rapids providing assistance to my elderly mother.

It must have been sunny and warm there – sounds like somewhere I would enjoy going right about now since it is only 36 degrees in sunny Massachusetts.

It was marvelous–warm, but not humid. I would like to be back there myself. I’ll probably feel that way even more in a few days, when I’ll be in frigid Wisconsin!

I am usually happy, and particularly enjoyed that trip. I went with my son and his fiance (now his wife), and we had a great time together.
